Did you ever wonder how long it takes your computer to boot up? Do you need proofs that your computer is sluggish and you waste a lot of time waiting for it to boot up? If the answer to both those questions is affirmative, then you need to get BootRacer. This is a free tool that will tell you how long it takes your system to boot up.

To set up BootRacer on your computer, you must first download a 2.4MB archive. Inside the archive there’s an executable file; when you run the executable, a setup wizard will show up and take you through the installation process. The whole thing is rather straightforward and will not take much of your time.

The nice thing about BootRacer’s interface is that it is very colorful and that it features nice, big buttons. To get BootRacer to measure your system’s boot time, you need only click on the Start button – you will then be informed that BootRacer will do its job the next time you reboot and you are invited to reboot your system.

While your system is rebooting, you will see a BootRacer window in the bottom right hand side of the screen; this window measures your boot time. Once the boot process completes, the BootRacer window tells you how much it took your system to boot up – it took my system 54 seconds. Click the “See why” button to view more details about your boot results.

Speaking about boot results, it must be mentioned that the developer of BootRacer is holding a contest for the fastest booting software. If you want to take part in the contest, submit your boot results. The developer will use the info you submit to improve the BootRace tool.

With the free tool BootRacer you can measure Windows boot time and you can access some info about your Windows-powered machine.

Pros

BootRacer has a colorful interface with nice, big buttons. The application will measure how long it takes your system to boot up and it presents information about your system. If you want to, you can submit your boot time results. BootRacer is freeware.

Cons

None that I could think of.
